Oliveira e Carmo - Missions Carried Out

Among some of the missions carried out by the NRP "Oliveira e Carmo" are: the safeguarding of human life at sea, search and rescue services (SAR); a guarding and inspection of national waters; control of merchant shipping and marine pollution; surveillance action, participation in Navy Day celebrations and its presence at these; the execution of naval exercises (in groups); missions of a logistical and transport nature,; promoting internships; public interest missions.

Recent History and Events

2000: On March 8th, anchored by the Tower of Belém together with the NRPs "Augusto Castilho" and "João Coutinho", the corvette Oliveira e Carmo assisted in the re-enactment of the route of Pedro Álvares Cabral 500 years after his first departure.
